The Complaints Resolution Unit, UWS Office of General Counsel and the Office of Marketing and Communication have come together to work towards a student awareness campaign around the areas of etiquette; respect and privacy on social media after several instances of students acting inappropriately on social media were brought to light. The aim is to work with students to understand what is important to them, and what sort of behaviour is appropriate on social media. The campaign outcome rested on the concept of asking the audience ‘would you show nan’ as a way of reminding them of thinking about the implications of their online behaviours.
