As we exist within society, we form our own environments through the accumulation of things. These things gradually become an extension of ourselves and the people we have become. By ninety-four years of age, my grandpa has spent his entire life, not collecting antiques or things of any particular value, but rather, hoarding copious amounts of seemingly useless items. These ever growing mountains of expired, old fashion, or impractical things fill every available space. My publication documents my grandpa’s collections, and the way that the objects often transcend the original purpose, and become a powerful reflection of the individual.
